Singles

Three weeks and running at No.1 for fun. featuring Janelle Monae and the track "We Are Young", whilst also in a holding pattern high on the charts at No.2 is Nicki Minaj's "Starships" at No.2 for a second week, but picking up a platinum sales certification.

But a contender for the top spot (it’s already No.1 on Oz iTunes) is from newcomer Carly Rae Jepsen, who for the third consecutive week makes a huge jump up the charts with her first Australian hit "Call Me Maybe", so far leaping 79-39-15 and now #3. The other new peaking track within the Top 10 is Skrillex and his song "Bangarang", which is up a place to No.4, whilst he also breaks into the Top 50 at No.50 with "Kyoto".

Six weeks at No.1, then two weeks at No.3, now Flo Rida and Sia drop down two places to No.5 with "Wild Ones", and also dropping two rungs is another former chart-topped, Gym Class Heroes and Neon Hitch with "Ass Back Home", down to No.6 this week.

Qwote and Pitbull stay put at No.7 with "Throw Your Hands Up"; down two places to No.8 is 360 and Gossling with "Boys Like You", and dropping a single place each are Jason DeRulo's "Fight for You" and Chris Brown's "Turn Up the Music" to No.9 and No.10 respectively.

NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: Labrinth and Tinie Tempah score a ten place jump to No.11, a new peak for not only the track but Tinie Tempah has never placed higher than No.31 in Australia (Swedish House Mafia vs Tinie Tempah; "Miami 2 Ibiza" {peaked Jan 2011}). Train continues their slow shunt up the charts, as "Drive By" climbs a single place to a new peak of No.13. Ed Sheeran scores a thirty place jump to No.19 with his new track "Lego House", and right behind him, up eight places to No.20 are Far East Movement and Justin Bieber with "Live My Life".
As a featured artist, Lil' Wayne has appeared on nine tracks that have reached the Top 30 or higher. This week his latest track; "Mirror" climbs five places to No.27 and becomes his highest placed lead-artist chart entry in Australia. And also joining the Top 30 is Outasight with "Tonight is the Night", up eight places to No.29. Usher's "Climax" takes its biggest leap so far, up four places this week, and jumping eight spots to No.37 are We the Kings with their new track "Say You Like Me".

T-Pain scores the highest new entry of the week, coming in at No.44 with "Turn All the Lights On" featuring Ne-Yo as guest vocalist. It's the second single from his fourth album "Revolver" to chart here, as "5 O'Clock" featuring Wiz Khalifa and Lily Allen made it to No.29 in October of 2011.

Taylor Swift's tour of Australia has finished (March 14th), but her charting tracks continues as she scores the second Top 50 debut of the week, coming in at No.47 with "Eyes Open", which along with her other chart entry "Safe & Sound" (TW-45) is taken from "The Hunger Games" soundtrack which debuts this week.

Lower 50: DJ Fresh jumps up eleven places to No.54 with the dubstep track "Hot Right Now". That's the only new peaking track in the lower half of the charts, but re-entries this week come from Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull with "I Like How it Feels" at No.85, Andy Grammer's "Keep Your Head Up" at No.93 and returning at No.95 is Bruno Mars' "Grenade".

The third single from Stan Walker's third album "Let the Music Play" is entitled "Music Won't Break Your Heart", and it debuts at No.53 this week. And entering at No.69 is the second chart entry for Cher Lloyd entitled "Want U Back". Her other charting single in Australia was “With UR Love” which made it to No.43 in late December 2011.

One Direction debut with four tracks this week, all taken from the bonus disc of material now attached to the 'Tour Edition' of their "Up All Night" album (back up to No.2 this week). "Moments" is in at No.60, "Another World" debuts at No.66. Then "I Should Have Kissed You" enters at No.71 and in at No.80 is "Stand Up". They also have their two current Top 20 singles "What Makes You Beautiful" (TW-17, 21 weeks within the Top 20 and four times platinum now) and "One Thing" is down two places to No.14 and now platinum in sales.

Xavier Rudd scores his first ever ARIA singles chart entry by debuting at No.84 with "Follow the Sun". Swedish House Mafia drops out from #100 with "Antidote", but debut with their new track "Greyhound" at No.89. DJ and remixer Jack Back (not Black) reworks the track “Wild Ones” as “Wild One Two” now featuring uber-producer David Guetta and singers Nicky Romero and Sia on the track which debuts at No.90. Regina Spektor makes her fifth appearance by entering at No.91 with "All the Rowboats", which taken from her upcoming sixth album “What We Saw from the Cheap Seats” (due late May 2012). And the final entry of the week comes in at 100 for the Arctic Monkeys with "R U Mine?"

Albums

The Hilltop Hoods score a second week at No.1 with their sixth album and third consective No.1 studio album "Drinking from the Sun". But challenging for the lead once again are One Direction, who rebound three places from No.5 to No.2 for a second week at No.2, now helped by the Tour Edition of their album "Up All Night" coming out during the week. And holding at No.3 again this week is Adele's "21" spending its 59th week in the Top 10 and 61st week in the Top 100.

Scoring the highest new entry of the week is Alburquerque, New Mexico band The Shins with their fourth album entitled "Port of Morrow" debuting at No.4. It surpasses the No.5 debut their third album "Wincing the Night Away" achieved in February of 2007, and those are their only two chart entries in Australia thus far.

Skrillex's "Bangarang" drops back a place to No.5, Bruce Springsteen's "Wrecking Ball" falls down four places to No.6 from last weeks No.2 debut. Lana Del Rey's "Born to Die" holds at No.7 this week, and up to a new peak of No.8 is Bob Seger's "Ultimate Hits", whilst falling are Bruno Mars' "Doo-Wops and Hooligans", down one to No.9 and down four to No.10 is 360 with "Falling and Flying".

NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: Ed Sheeran is up a couple of places to No.12 with his "+" (plus/positive) album, helped by his new single "Lego House" leaping up the charts. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's tour has been touring the country and they have one more show this coming week (Sydney March 27th), and that has helped his album "Emotional Traffic" to rebound twenty places to No.20, plus his “Number One Hits” (HP-72) re-enters at No.83, whilst Faith debuts at No.67 with the compilation set "The Hits".
Local country artist Troy Cassar-Delay's "Home" album is back up six places to No.23 after falling to No.29 from No.9 last week. "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1" was released on DVD and Blu-Ray two weeks ago, and this has helped the soundtrack back up the charts forty-eight places to No.38 this week.
Cold Chisel's "All for You - The Best of" is back up eight places to No.39, whilst lead singer Jimmy Barnes' "Hits" is up six places to No.46. Also back into the Top 50 is the self-titled album for Evanescence, up seventeen places to No.42 helped by the national tour of Australia, and Die Antwoord re-enter the Top 50 at No.48 (up twelve places) with "Ten$ion". Lastly Creedence Clearwater Revivals "Chronicle" returns at No.41 (HP-22) for its 134th week within the Top 100.

"The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12" debuts at No.14 just as the film hit cinemas around the country on Thursday (22nd March), so expect it to jump up next week once it's had a full weeks run on screens.

The sixth Greatest Hits compilation for Australia's Hoodoo Gurus debuts at No.15 entitled "Gold Watch: 20 Golden Greats", which contains twenty tracks including the new song "Use by Date". Their biggest GH package was their first, “Electric Soup” (Sept 1992) which made it to No.3 in its second week upon the chart. And debuting right behind them is Swedish trio Miike Snow with their second album "Happy to You" (first to chart here), whilst the fourth Top 20 debut of the week comes from local country duo McAlister Kemp with their second album entitled "Country Proud" coming in at No.18. Their previous album "All Kinds of Tough" made it to No.93 on the ARIA Albums Chart in January 2010.

Lower 50: Tony Bennet debuts at No.51 with the double package of "Duets: An American Classic" and "Duets 2", which are preceeding his early April tour here. Dierks Bentley re-enters and scores a new peak at No.52 with "Home", plus also re-entering is Chris Botti's album "This is Chris Botti" at No.64 (also a new peak for the album).
Dirty Three's album "Toward the Low Sun" rebound’s twenty-two places to No.68. Whilst further country returnees include Adam Harvey's "Falling into Place" at No.89 and Lee Kernaghan's "Ultimate Hits" at No.100.

Sydney five-piece indie rocks Deep Sea Arcade debut at No.56 with their first album entitled "Outlands", and British soul singer Michael Kiwanuka enters at No.69 with his debut album "Home Again" which has thus far reached No.4 in his home country.

Local singer/songwriter Mick Thomas enters at No.80 with "The Last of the Tourists", his previous entry was May 2009’s “Spin! Spin! Spin!” (HP-52). UK X-Factor runner-up for 2010 Rebecca Ferguson debuts at No.82 with her first album "Heaven". US country singer Craig Campbell is in at No.91 with his debut self-titled album, and New Zealand singer Bic Runga enters at No.97 with "Belle" her fourth album, having previously charted with “Drive” (July 1998, HP-49), “Beautiful Collision” (July 2002, HP-42) and “Birds” (March 2006, HP-26).
