One Direction have sold over a million copies of their debut single in America.
The boyband's first track 'What Makes You Beautiful' has gone platinum in the US after selling 1,129,852 units since its release.

The song has so far peaked at number four on the US Hot 100 chart, while their debut record Up All Night topped the Billboard 200 album listings after its first week on sale.
So far, Up All Night has topped the charts in 15 countries worldwide .
The single sales feat follows One Direction's recent announcement that they will embark on their second headline jaunt across North America as part of their 2013 world tour.
