It's done! 14 months after its release Adele's '21' breaks through the 20 million border. With the 247.000 copies, which were sold last week, the total sales are at 20,21 million now. So it's the first album
since Norah Jones' 'Come Away With Me' (released in 2002) which reaches such a high level. Alone in the last quarter '21' moved 4,9 million copies and at the end of 2012 it will be surely the biggest album of the year and the second biggest of the 21st century, behind the Beatles' best of compilation '1', which sold nearly 32 million copies so far. Back to this week's tally the soundtrack to 'The Hunger Games' makes a deep impact and bows at no.2 with 194.000 initial sales. Les Enfoirés' 'Le Bal Des Enfoirés' climbs at no.3, despite a 9% sales decline to 123.000, short behind follows Bruce Spingsteen's 'Wrecking Ball' at the fourth place (down 35% to 118.000 sales). 'The Hunger Games' soundtrack leads massive 14 debuts on this week's top 40 list: six are from the USA, four from Japan and each one album from Germany, United Kingdom, France and South Korea: second highest new entry comes from Osaka-based one-man-project Acid Black Cherry. The fifth album of the alternative rock act, simply titled as '2012', lands at no.5 with 118.000 copies. With only some hundreds sales fewer, 'Port Of Morrow', the fourth effort of the US-indie rock band The Shins, follows at no.6. J-pop icon Ayumi Hamasaki goes at no.8 with her 13th studio album release 'Party Queen' (98.000 sales) and German dark-pop act Unheilig jumps at no.9 with 'Lichter Der Stadt' (76.000 sales). Unheilig's former album 'Grosse Freiheit' (2010) was a huge success in the german-speaking territories and sold more than 1,6 million copies so far. Outside the top 10 debuting Shinee's 'Sherlock' at no.12 (57.000 sales), Odd Future's 'The OF Tape Vol.2' at no.16 (46.000 sales), M.Pokora's 'Á La Poursuite Du Bonheur' at no.19 (42.000 sales), Melanie Fiona's 'The MF Life' at no.22 (35.000), Lionel Richie's 'Tuskagee' at no.25 (33.000), Paul Weller's 'Sonik Kicks' at no.28 (31.000), Esperanza Spalding's 'Radio Music Society' at no.29 (31.000), Team H's 'Loung H The First Impression' at no.30 (30.000) and AAA's 'Another Side Of #AAABest' at no.31 (29.000).
It was a tight race this week atop the global track chart, but at the end Gotye feat. Kimbra's 'Somebody That I Used To Know' wins it, holds the no.1 for a fifth consecutive week and grows another 7% in points to 327.000. Fun. feat. Janelle Monáe's 'We Are Young' is close behind for

a second week at no.2 (up 18% to 323.000 points). Flo Rida feat. Sia's 'Wild Ones' is also still at no.3 (up 7% to 280.000 points) and Katy Perry's 'Part Of Me' rolls back at no.4

(up 51% to 248.000 points) and thus achieves almost the peak of its first week, when it started at no.3 (week 9, 2012). Rounds out the top five is Nicki Minaj's 'Starships' (up 3% to 238.000 points).

Taylor Swift lands this week's highest new-entry with 'Eyes Open', a lift-off from 'The Hunger Games' soundtrack. The song bows at no.22 with 117.000 points. Also new are Kis-My-Ft2's 'She! Her! Her!' at no.23 (113.000 points), Kara's 'Speed Up' at no.35 (77.000 points) and Rihanna feat. Jay-Z' 'Talk That Talk' at no.40 (68.000 points). Outside the top 40 waiting among others LMFAO's 'Sorry For Party Rocking' at no.45, Shinee's 'Sherlock' at no.46, Skrillex' 'Bangarang' at no.56 and Adele's 'Rumour Has It' at no.57 for their first appearance on the big list.
