Adele pushes UK album sales in the US to 10-year high

Adele helped British artists reach a 10-year sales high in the US last year.
The singer's second album 21 pushed UK record sales in America up to an 11.7% share, which is the highest in a decade.
 According to UK record industry body BPI, the collection sold over 5.8 million copies in the US throughout 2011, with its nearest rival Sigh No More by Mumford & Sons trailing with 1.4 million sales.
Coldplay came third on the list with their fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto, while Adele's debut set 19 placed fourth with sales of 850,000 units.
Further entries that made up the majority of UK sales in the US included Florence + the Machine's Lungs and Ceremonials and Susan Boyle's Someone To Watch Over Me.
